Mahatma Gandhi - Biography, Accomplishments & Facts

The literal translation of sage, the name that the individuals of Asian nations gave to Gandhiji, is ‘the nice Soul’, maha, great; Atma, soul. The word goes back to the Upanishads, wherever it's utilized in speaking of the spiritual being, and, through the communion of information and Love, of these WHO become One with Him:

"He is that the One bright, Creator of All, sage continuously within the heart of the individuals enshrined, unconcealed through Love, Intuition, and Though, Whoever is aware of Him, Immortal becomes..."

The writer Rabindranath Tagore, on a visit to the Ashram, quoted the on top of textual matterconcerning the Apostle.

The name sage has been given to Gandhiji by common consent, maybe within the general sense of "Saint". There will be little doubt that in a number of its connotations, that of selflessness (with a better sense than of mere unselfishness) it will be properly applied to him.
